Netherland Dwarf

Netherland Dwarfs are also known as “Gems of the Fancy”. The Netherland Dwarf is the smallest rabbit of all domestic rabbits at just 2 pounds. Netherland Dwarfs are known for their large rounded head, bold eyes, tiny and upright ears and short compact body. They have good temperaments and are very curious creatures. The Netherland Dwarf is one of the most popular breeds and their small size makes them an ideal pet.

Head, Eyes & Ears

The head is generally large and rounded in shape when viewed from all angles, and set high. The ears are short and well set on top of the head. The ears are erect and well furred. Ideally, the ears should be 2 inches long or less than 2 inches. Eyes should be round, bold and bright.

Body

The body is short and compact. The shoulders are to be deep and broad, with the shoulders being the same width as the hindquarters. A Netherland Dwarf above 6 months of age should ideally weigh 2 pounds.

Fur

The fur is soft, dense and prime, with lots of life and glossiness.
